At all EC sanctioned competitions, Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) approved safety cups with breakaway track systems (metal or plastic) will be required on the back rails of oxers; middle and back rails of triple bars; and rails over water. This requirement is mandatory in all jumper competition rings and all jumper and hunter warm-up rings as of Jan. 1, 2020. As of Jan. 1, 2021, FEI-approved safety cups and breakaway track systems will also be required in all hunter competition rings at EC sanctioned competitions.

To assist competition organizers with the cost of compliance, the EC Jumping Committee has earmarked $100,000 in Jump Canada levy funds towards the purchase of FEI-approved jump cups and breakaway track systems. Competition organizers simply need to submit their receipt(s) showing proof of purchase by Oct. 1, 2020, to be reimbursed up to $3,000 CAD per competition venue.
